The Good News!   Check out this link to learn about Jesus!

God loves us and offers a fantastic plan for our lives.   God's tremendous love is recorded in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life" (NLT).   God's plan for us is described in John 10:10, "[Jesus Christ speaking] ... My purpose is to give life in all its fullness" (NLT).

We are all sinners and fail to measure up to God's standard of righteousness.   Romans 3:10, "No one is good-not even one."   Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard" (NLT).

Due to our sinful condition, we all deserve eternal punishment and separation from God.   Romans 1:18, "But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who push the truth away from themselves."   Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (NLT).

We cannot solve this sin and guilt problem ourselves. Ephesians 2:8,9, "God saved you by his special favor when you believed.   And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God.   Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it."   Titus 3:5, "He saved us, not because of the good things we did, but because of his mercy.   He washed away our sins and gave us a new life through the Holy Spirit" (NLT).

Jesus Christ, the God-Man and Messiah, died in our place to provide salvation and deliverance from sin; and, then, he rose from the dead to prove he has power over sin and death.   Romans 5:8, "But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners." 1 Corinthians 15:3,4, "I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me-that Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said.   He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, as the Scriptures said."     1 Peter 2:24, "He personally carried away our sins in his own body on the cross so we can be dead to sin and live for what is right.   You have been healed by his wounds!" (NLT).

Mental assent is not enough-we must by faith believe and receive Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior.   John 1:12, "But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God."   Romans 10:9,10, "For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.   For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved" (NLT).

Once our sins are forgiven and we receive eternal life-entering into personal relationship with Christ-we then are able to know God and live for his good pleasure.   A NEW BEGINNING! 2 Corinthians 5:15, "He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live to please themselves.   Instead, they will live to please Christ, who died and was raised for them."   Ephesians 1:12, "God's purpose was that we who were the first to trust in Christ should praise our glorious God" (NLT).  This is Good News, the gospel of Jesus Christ!
