A Worthy Resolution for the NEW YEAR
Are you the resolution type? Here's a thought you might not have contemplated: This incoming year, could be the year Christ returns to judge the earth! While the Bible makes it clear that that day and hour is only known to God, we are nevertheless implored to stay alert and prepare for when the "Day of the Lord" is revealed. Here are a few prayerful suggestions to make sure you're ready to meet Jesus when He comes:
- Resolve to put away, once and for all, any sinful behavior, attitudes, or personal interests that hinders you from being all that Christ has called you to be (Hebrews 12:1-2).
- Resolve to commit more time in intercessory prayer for others (Galatians 6:2).
- Resolve to make service to the local church a sacred priority of your life (Mark 10:45, John 13:14-15).
- Resolve to be an outstanding example of a child of Light at your job and among unbelievers (Ephesians 5:15-17).
- Resolve to trust in the goodness and sovereignty of God when the fiery trials come to test and strengthen your faith (Daniel 3:17-18)
Our Lord is coming back again! May you be able to greet the Great Bridegroom joyfully, having spiritually prepared yourselves for that great day. May the Lord's blessings be abundant to you this new year.

We celebrate GODs faithfulness and goodness while we dedicate ourselves and
this facility to the service of the Lord Jesus Christ! We are excited and grateful to be conducting
services and other ministries throughout the week in the space that the Lord has provided. SLCC
has been a part of this neighborhood for ten (10) years, formerly on Michigan Avenue, just two

NEW Fiscal Year Theme 2011-2012: The Church Unleashed
Since the church is the community of faith--people--then we have the privilege of reaching out into our community
with the grace and truth of Jesus Christ!
Matthew 16:18 - "Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means rock), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it."
1 Thessalonians 1:8-9 - "He will keep you strong to the end so that you will be free from all blame on the day when our Lord Jesus Christ returns. God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord."
1 Peter 2:9 - "But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests,[a] a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light."
